Sanjay declares to Dhrutrashtr -- “Wherever there are God of Yog Shreekrishn, and Archer Arjun, there is, Grandeur, Victory, Power and Righteousness.”

And O’ Slayer of Keshee also tell me what sacrifice is.

GOD SAID
Some learned ones consider giving up of actions,
Motivated by desires as Sannyas.
The wise ones consider sacrifice,
As giving up of fruit of actions.

Chapter 18.3

Some say renounce actions all,
As there is evil in all.
Say others never renounce penance,
Sacrifice and charity at all.

Chapter 18.4

O’great Bharat, listen
About sacrifice from me.
O’ Tiger amongst men,
Sacrifice is threefold as per me.

Chapter 18.5

Acts of sacrifice, charity and penance,
Are important and must be done.
As sacrifice charity and penance,
Purify wise men.

Chapter 18.6

But these must be done
Without any expectation.
Parth, these should be done,
As part of duty, is my firm opinion.

Chapter 18.7

It is not proper to give up duty bound actions,
Due to attachments,
Tamas it would be termed
To give up such actions.

Of pain and stress,
Is termed Rajas,
And it reaps no fruit nevertheless.

Action performed as part of duty,
Of pain and stress,
Is termed Rajas,
And it reaps no fruit nevertheless.

Chapter 18.10

The Sat Tyagee neither hates bad action,
Nor gets attached to good action.
He knows real abandonment,
And has no doubt about any action.

Chapter 18.11

Any one possessing body,
Cannot entirely give up all actions,
Real sacrifice is therefore,
Giving up fruit of all actions.

Chapter 18.12

That imperishable divine present,
In all beings is same,
For that knowledge Satvik is the name.

Hear from me joys threefold,
In which the striver finds,
Enjoyment manifold.

No one is free from,
Attributes of nature,
Nor on earth and heaven neither,
Even the Gods too never.

Chapter 18.41

Parantap, the duties of Brahmins,
Or those of warriors and traders,
Or the labourers,
Are divided as per their natural attitudes.

The Lord here tells Arjun the categories of people as per their patterns of behavior and not by birth. Thus a born Brahmin can wield a weapon and lead people. He acts like Kshatriya and should be termed as one. Ultimately one behaves as per his natural instincts. A trained Doctor or Engineer may become a trader and should be called one. A person born in family of Vaishya (Trader) or Shoodr (labourer) may prefer to work in different category and should be termed as one.

Chapter 18.42

Farming, trade, rearing of animals,
Are the duties of traders,
Assisting others and labour,
Are the duties of labourers.

How the man can attain,
Supreme perfection,
Listen to me with keen attention.

Chapter 18.46

The one who pervades the whole universe,
And who is origin of all beings,
Worshipping him by doing own duties,
Highest destination the man achieves.

Chapter 18.47

Better is own duty, even if done imperfectly,
Than performing duties of other’s perfectly.
As by own duty performance,
Sins have no occurrence.

Chapter 18.48

Arjun therefore,
One should not stop performing,
Because every effort has a measure of shortcoming,
Like the fire always has a smoke covering.

The one who is unattached,
Has control of mind and senses,
Who does not care about physical desires,
That one, through renunciation,
Reaches the highest possible perfection.

Chapter 18.50

O’ son of Kuntee, learn from me,
The method by which the men so perfect,
Achieve the ultimate knowledge state,
And reach the Supreme State.

Chapter 18.51

Speech and also mind,
Leaves all the desires behind.

Chapter 18.52

With aversion from society,
Controlling diet, speech and body,
Keeps mind immersed in meditation completely.

Chapter 18.53

Without ego, anger, lust and pride,
Possessing nothing and keeping mind at peace,
Such one surely attains,
The supreme bliss and everlasting peace.

Chapter 18.54

Remaining cheerful,
He craves or grieves for nothing,
Identifying and stabilizing,
Himself with the Supreme,
Remaining equal to all, he dedicates
Himself to my devotion Supreme.

Chapter 18.55

With that devotion supreme,
In reality he knows me.
Thus knowing me fully,
He merges in me truly.

Chapter 18.56

While doing actions many,
Who depends on me totally,
By my grace he reaches eternal
And imperishable state certainly.

Chapter 18.57

Dedicate all actions to me,
Remain even minded
And devoted to me,
And constantly fix your mind in me.

Chapter 18.58

With your mind such fixed and devoted,
You shall overcome difficulties all.
But by having self-ego and being conceited,
You will get destroyed by means all.

Chapter 18.59

If standing on resolve of not to fight,
Vain will be that resolve,
As your own nature will force you to fight.

Chapter 18.60

You are tied by your nature,
O’ son of Kuntee,
The duty you are shunning from,
Your nature will force you to perform.

Chapter 18.61

Arjun, God resides in hearts of all,
Causing them to revolve
According to his illusive power divine,
As if moved by a machine.

Chapter 18.62

So take refuge in him wholeheartedly,
By his grace you will attain peace eternally.

Chapter 18.63

Thus I have unfolded,
The knowledge most secret,
Deeply ponder over it,
And do now as you deem fit.

Chapter 18.64

You are my very dear friend,
Therefore the secret of all secrets indeed,
Disclose to you again I would,
Hear it from me for your own good.

Chapter 18.65

Be my devotee, meditate always on me,
Worship me, bow to me,
Doing so you will come to me,
This I truly promise as you are really dear to me.

Chapter 18.66

Leave aside everything else,
Surrender to me all out,
I shall absolve you of all sins,
Worry you not.

In my opinion this verse combined with verse ”22” of chapter “9” is the ultimate essence of Geeta.

Chapter 18.67

This secret Gospel never tell to one,
Who lacks restrain or devotion,
Not to one who does not want to listen,
And also not to him who hates me for certain.

Chapter 18.68

The one, who tells this secret,
To people devout,
That will be devotion at its best,
And he shall come to me no doubt.

Chapter 18.69

No one else, is or shall be dearer to me,
On this earth as he will be dearest to me.

Chapter 18.70

I declare to you this, that whoever,
Studies this dialogue, of yours and mine,
Consider that he worships me,
With knowledge divine.

Chapter 18.71

The man who listens to this,
Without any malice and with reverence,
Gets freedom from sins,
And reaches the divine world of virtuous.

Chapter 18.72

Parth, have you heard this,
With full concentration?,
O’ Dhananjay, are you free from
Ignorance born out of delusion?

Chapter 18.73

ARJUN SAID
O’ Krishna, O’ Achyut,
My delusion is removed,
With your grace I have gained wisdom,
I am now doubtless and firm,
Will do now as you say, I affirm.

Chapter 18.74

SANJAY SAID
Thus I heard the conversation,
Between those two greats,
Vaasudev and Parth,
So thrilling and mysterious,
That even now my body has goose bumps.

Chapter 18.75

Due to blessings of Shree Vyas,
In person I heard the talk secret,
Between Yogeshwar Krishn,
And Arjun the great.

Chapter 18.76

Remembering over and over again,
The mysterious and secret conversation,
Between Keshav and Arjun,
O’ king I get thrilled again and again.

Chapter 18.77

Remembering time and again,
That wondrous form of Hari,
O’ King, wonderstruck I remain,
And feel the thrill yet again.

Chapter 18.78

Wherever there are lord of Yog Krishn,
And the great Archer Arjun,
In my opinion, goodness, victory, glory,
