All are here, Grandfathers, Grandsons and In Laws,
Gurus and Uncles, Fathers and Sons.

Chapter 1.34

I would not kill sons of Dhrutrashtr, even if they come to kill me,
I will leave the Empire of Universe, let aside the Earth be.

Chapter 1.35

What good will we do by Dhrutrashtr sons slaying,
O ‘Madhav, Tormentors they are, but I will be sinning.
It is not proper to kill brothers,
How can we be happy by killing family and friends.

Chapter 1.36

These people who are greed driven
Don’t see the sin, of clan annihilation.

Chapter 1.37

Why shouldn’t O’ Janardan,
We think of avoiding sin of family destruction.

Chapter 1.38 & 1.39

When there is no family or clan,
The customs and religious rites are lost,
And when the rites and customs are lost,
Adharm is at its worst.

Chapter 1.40

When Adharm rules, women of clan lose character and dignity,
By losing character they fall into adultery.

Chapter 1.41

The adulteration of family blood certainly will,
Send the family and ancestors to hell.

Chapter 1.42

We will destroy family and clan with this sin,
And be responsible for downfall of all our rites, kith and kin.

Chapter 1.43

O’ Janardan, we often hear from many,
That without religious rites and righteous family,
We will reside in the hell forever certainly.

Chapter 1.44

Oh my god, what a sin we have conceived,
For pleasure of kingdom getting all our brethren killed.

Chapter 1.45

It is better that I stay quiet and discard my arms,
And let the Kaurav kill me with their own weapons.

Chapter 1.46

SANJAY SPOKE,
Saying this in grief, Arjun in the chariot,
Dropped his bow and arrows and sat down confused and quiet.
