GOD SAID
Once again I shall state,
The knowledge supreme.
Knowing which, all sages,
Have attained the state supreme.
Chapter 14.2
Taking refuge in this knowledge,
They come and reside in me,
They are free from birth and death,
Once established in me.

O’ Bharat, Nature is
The womb of all creatures.
I plant the seed of life there,
And creation of all beings starts from there.
Chapter 14.4
Son of Kuntee, for all living species,
Nature is the mother,
And I am the seed giving father.
Chapter 14.5
Out of the three Satv is, illuminating and flawless,
It propagates knowledge and happiness.
Chapter 14.7
Son of Kuntee, Rajas is all about desire and passion,
It binds the soul, to action and fruits of action.
Chapter 14.8
Bharat, Tamas thinks self only as body,
It remains full of delusion,
And tries to bind the soul to body,
Through errors, sleep and confusion.
Chapter 14.9
Rajas draws one to action,
Satv generates happiness.
Tamas by clouding wisdom,
Propels towards sleep, error and laziness.
Chapter 14.10
Repressing the other two,
One of these three prevails,
At times Satv, sometime Rajas
Or other time Tamas prevails
Chapter 14.11
Due to light of Knowledge,
When all doors of body are illuminated,
Consider at that time,
Satv has prevailed.
Chapter 14.12
O’ Great Bharat, when desires prevail,
With greed and actions,
Restlessness and pleasure seeking activities commence,
Then know that Rajas has dominance.
Chapter 14.13
When Tamas starts to overbear,
Darkness of mind,
Inactivity, triviality,
And stupor appear.
Chapter 14.14
When one dies in state,
Of Satvik dominance,
Higher plane he reaches
As attained by sages great.
Chapter 14.15
Dying in Rajas prominence, he takes birth,
Among desire bound doers.
In Tamas dominance,
He takes birth in thoughtless species like animals.
Chapter 14.16
Satvik is reward of righteous act,
It is joy without fault.
Sorrow is the fruit of Rajas act,
And ignorance is result of Tamas act.
Chapter 14.17
Knowledge is product of Satv,
And greed of Rajas.
Ignorance, stupor and
Delusion is product of Tamas.
Chapter 14.18

Enveloped in ignorance, below stay Tamas.

Though Gunas get everything done,
Only the deserving one,
Knows me as,
Beyond gunas the only one.
